Saturday, April 2 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Registration is now closed for this date. You can still sign up for the April 16 workshop.
We hope you will join us for one of two upcoming CPR-AED classes being sponsored by the CDS Boston Centre! CDS Boston is offering reduced tuition to its members to learn Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Learning CPR could help you save a life at one of our dances, or elsewhere in your community. This course will also familiarize you with the use of an AED, which are present at most of our dance venues. What better way to learn than working side-by-side in a familiar setting with other dancers and friends.
Knowing what to do gives you confidence to act quickly before EMTs/medical help arrives, which takes on average 5-12 minutes. Starting CPR buys much needed time during those critical minutes that maximize a victim’s chance of survival.
American Red Cross instructors will guide us using film, lecture, and hands-on training, using child and adult manikins.
The course will be given on two Saturdays and at two locations:
Saturday April 2 • Park Avenue Congregational Church, 50 Paul Revere Road, Arlington MA (Must register by March 22)
Saturday April 16 • Concord Scout House, 74 Walden Street, Concord MA (Must register by April 5)
The cost is $25.00. Pre-registration required. Scholarships available; contact the email address on the registration form for information.
AEDs are now installed at three venues where we dance: Concord Scout House, Harvard-Epworth Methodist Church, Park Avenue Congregational Church. Pinewoods Camp also has AEDs.
Participants must be masked and vaccinated. See the CDS-Boston COVID guidelines
