Labor Day Weekend at Pinewoods Camp

September 4 - 7, 2010

Housing

Room and board are included in the fees. Pinewoods Camp provides beds, mattresses, and pillows. Campers bring sheets, blankets, any other bedding you require and towels. Nights can be quite cool on Labor Day weekend, so bring warm bedding. (Cabins are not heated.) Cabins have electrical power for lighting and low-powered devices, but are not for hair dryers, computers or other high-power devices. Housing and roommate preferences will be honored as much as possible. Unless you state a roommate preference, we will assign you a roommate of the same sex.

Food

The dining hall accommodates vegetarians as well as omnivore. Please let us know about any special dietary needs on your application form.

Camper Jobs

All campers over age 5 are assigned jobs to help the weekend run smoothly and keep costs down. Children and adults are assigned jobs by age, ability and preferences. While we cannot always follow your preferences, we will do out best. On your application, tell us things like:

Work Exchange

Several positions are available for work in the kitchen in exchange for a reduced camper fee. Those interested should express their desire on the application and apply early. Or contact us at laborday@cds-boston.org

Information for Parents

Pinewoods camp is an adult camp. Campers under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children are expected to participate in group activities or be under the supervision of an adult at all times. During evening dances, children at the dance pavilion should be participating in the dances. After 9:00, the dance is only for 12 and up. Housing for children under 12 will be with or near their parents. Families with similar age children will be grouped together when possible. More information and a liability release form will be sent to those who apply with children.
