CDS Boston Centre
2008 Summer Series
Wednesday English Dance Program

Mark your calendars for dancing Wednesday evenings, starting on July 9th and finishing on August 20th, from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m.  Back by popular demand are the ice cream socials, every week. All dances are party dances (all dances are walked through), and we have an exciting lineup of callers and musicians.

New this year is English Dance Basics, starting at 7:10pm.

The 2008 summer dances will be held at the air-conditioned First Unitarian Society of Newton, 1326 Washington Street, West Newton, MA. It is the striking stone church in West Newton center, right at exit 16 off the Pike, located just a short walk from the West Newton commuter rail station. There is parking on nearby streets and in parking lots nearby. The hall itself is lovely, with a great wood dance floor, wood panelling and beams, and best of all - it's air conditioned! Directions to the church and nearby eateries (pdf file) and a map of the area including parking lots (pdf file).

General admission is $9, CDS (and CDSS or affiliate) members are $7, students and newcomers are $4, or members can pick up a summer series ticket good for all seven dances for only $44! (The summer series ticket will continue to be honoured beyond the summer.) Also available to members (year-round, not just in the summer) are 12-dance cards for $75, that are valid at all Wednesday dances for one year from the date of purchase and can be shared with friends and family. The suggested donation for ice cream is $1.50.

All dances are taught; no experience is necessary, nor do you need to come with a partner. If you're new to this and would like an introduction or a chance to ask questions before the dance starts, write to < info-english at cds-boston dot org >.
